Aims of Agoonoree
Since one of the main aims of the
Scout Association is the integration of all Scouts; as a matter of
principle we would wish the Scout with special needs to attend his/her
regular troops' summer camp if at all possible.
If this is not feasible, or if it is beneficial for the Scout to have
two summer camps, then the Agoonoree Camp is there to help. Thus the
camp has two main objectives:
firstly to enable the Scout to have a summer
camp that cannot be provided by their regular section
secondly to enable that Scout's carer to have
"a week off".
The camp is available to all members of the Scout Association,
including members of Scoutlink groups and usually numbers about 120
persons in all, slightly under half of whom have special needs .
